Ruben Gazarian Extends Contract with Theater Altenburg Gera Until 2030

We are delighted to announce that Ruben Gazarian has extended his contract as General Music Director of Theater Altenburg Gera for another three years, until summer 2030.

Gazarian has held the position since the 2020/21 season and has become an important artistic voice of the theatre and its orchestra. His new contract ensures continuity for the successful collaboration in the coming seasons. Alongside his work in Gera, Gazarian has also been Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Israel Chamber Orchestra in Tel Aviv since September 2024.

We are very pleased that Ruben Gazarian will continue to lead the orchestra in Gera while pursuing his international activities in Tel Aviv and as a guest conductor with leading orchestras around the world.
